Registration opens for 47th annual Zonta Fashion Show | Community

PETOSKEY — Zonta Club of Petoskey has opened online registration for its 47th annual fashion show and fundraising luncheon, planned for 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019 in Ovation Hall at Odawa Casino.

This Fashion Show, a November tradition for hundreds of residents and their guests, will highlight the latest fall and winter fashions from more than 30 retailers in the Petoskey area and feature a silent auction, gift basket raffle, entertainment by Michelle Chenard and Meg Kehoe and an elegant lunch.

The theme this year is “A Centennial of Inspiration,” celebrating Zonta International’s 100th anniversary. The Petoskey Club is launching a 100 for $100 campaign with the fashion show to fund a new project supporting women in the area.

The Barrier Busters Centennial Project will provide financial assistance to area women to help them overcome barriers that may prevent them from meeting essential needs. When a woman has a situation that could potentially prevent her from achieving her highest potential, she will be able to apply for a small amount of financial assistance to overcome that barrier. Zonta Club of Petoskey is currently seeking partnership proposals for this project. The Club will also match, dollar for dollar, gifts to the 100 for $100 campaign, up to $10,000.

Early bird tickets are $60 each. Prices increase on Oct. 1. Online registration is available through MyNorth Tickets and can be accessed through the club’s website, www.petoskeyzonta.com.

The 47th annual fashion show is sponsored by Arlington Jewelers, Chemical Bank, Comfort Keepers, Odawa Casino, North Central Michigan College, Petoskey Plastics and Petoskey Surgeons, with support from All Weather Seal, Fifth Third Bank, Harbor Hall, Jet’s Pizza, Lite 96.3, Plunkett Cooney, Raymond James/Kimberly Phelps and SludgeHammer Group Ltd.

Zonta Club of Petoskey was chartered in 1971 and is one of 39 clubs in the state of Michigan. Its members participate in service projects that support the mission of Zonta: to advance the status of women worldwide. More than $300,000 has been donated to local organizations since the club’s charter. Zonta Club of Petoskey meets on the first and third Thursdays at noon at North Central Michigan College. The annual fashion show serves as the group’s primary fundraiser.
